This picture really made me want to make a crab for my project because of how awkward it looks. Also, the joints could easily be made into different pieces.
I went to big paper and made the different pieces more visible.
Then I painted my frame black.
I painted the background a sea green and added streaks of white, yellow, and blue. I went back and re painted the eyes an off white.
My first sketch was an exact remake of the picture, so I had to personalize it some to make it more unique.
Then I traced and cut my styrofoam. I sanded everything and made sure the edges were rounded.
When I painted, I did the whole thing red. Then I went over it and used white to highlight the middle. Then I used black to darken the outside. This made the crab look more defined instead of just a flat figure.
Then I polyurethaned the whole thing and let it dry outside. I really like how it turned out.
