I wanted to make a shark head as the sauce bowl so I started with that. I had to keep adding clay to the head to get the shape the way I wanted it.
I smoothed out the inside of the mouth to make for a better bowl.
I glazed the fin with light gray and the chopsticks still fit so that's good.
I tried to stick to an ocean theme, so I added a tentacle handle to my bowl. I really like the way it turned out.
Shoutout to Mr. Varney for this awesome picture.
I made teeth the day before so they would be harder and easier to insert in the gum line. I also tried to make the eyes look realistic.
I made a shark fin for the chopstick holder. I made sure to make the hole bigger than the actual chopstick.
I got a new phone over the break and lost the progress pictures for my cup and bowl. But, I used a crackle glaze and then used ink to put the crackle to use. Plus, I really wanted to use the ink on something.
I attached the shark head to a slab of clay and added some water drops to make it more detailed. The only thing i wish I would've done differently, is glazing the inside of the mouth a different color. Maybe a lighter red.
I am very pleased with my sushi set. It turned out a lot better than I originally thought it would and nothing broke!!
